I'm Kenzie
I document wedding days the way your favorite romantic comedy feels. Real, a little chaotic, and full of the moments you didn’t see coming.
If you’re looking for the best engagement photo locations in Jacksonville, FL, you have SO many options.
And honestly, that’s one of my favorite things about photographing couples in Jacksonville.
You can have a completely different feel depending on where you choose to take your photos. Maybe you want something elegant and romantic. Maybe you want architecture and a little more of a city feel. Maybe you want huge trees and greenery. Or maybe you want something that feels like you stepped into a romantic Florida estate.
After doing a LOT of location scouting around Jacksonville, I’ve narrowed down a few of my favorite spots for engagement sessions.
So if you’re currently trying to figure out where to take your engagement photos in Jacksonville, here are four locations I’d put at the top of your list.
If you want your engagement photos to feel elegant, romantic, and timeless, the Cummer Museum is definitely one of my top picks.
Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens sits along the St. Johns River and has some of the most beautiful gardens in Jacksonville. The property has formal garden spaces, reflecting pools, mature trees, pathways, and river views, so you can get a lot of variety without having to travel all over the city.
And as a photographer, I LOVE a location with variety.
You can have some more romantic, posed portraits surrounded by the gardens, then move into walking and interacting photos, and finish with those gorgeous river views.
It also gives your gallery a more elevated, editorial feel without feeling overly formal.
Best for: Couples who want elegant, romantic, garden-inspired photos.
My favorite part: The variety. You can get so many different looks in one location.
NOTE* This location does cost $250 to reserve a 1.5hr session. It’s pricey, but it’s worth the price.

If you’re looking for something a little more urban, editorial, and uniquely Jacksonville, don’t overlook Downtown.
This is one of those locations where I think you can make your engagement session feel more like a date night than a traditional photo shoot.
Downtown has historic architecture, city streets, the Riverwalk, the St. Johns River, and recognizable Jacksonville landmarks. The Northbank and Southbank Riverwalks also give you opportunities for waterfront and skyline photos.
And this is exactly the kind of session I love.
Imagine getting dressed up, walking around downtown, stopping at interesting buildings, wandering along the river, laughing together, and just spending an evening together.
I’ll photograph all of it.
You don’t have to spend your entire engagement session standing in one spot smiling at the camera.
We can move, explore, and let the location become part of your story.
Best for: Couples who love architecture, city vibes, dressing up, and date nights.
My favorite part: There are so many little spots to discover that your gallery can feel like a story unfolding throughout the city.

Okay, we can’t talk about engagement photos in Jacksonville without talking about the beach.
Jacksonville has miles of coastline, which means there are SO many ways to make a beach engagement session your own.
And while you might immediately picture the classic barefoot-in-the-sand photos, there are so many other ways to approach a beach session.
You can start with some dressed-up portraits, walk along the shoreline, play in the water, run around barefoot, sit together in the sand, or just spend the evening hanging out while I photograph the two of you.
And honestly, I love when couples aren’t afraid to get a little sandy.
Those are usually some of my favorite images.
There’s also something about a beach session at golden hour that just feels so romantic. The light, the movement, the wind, the water… it all creates so much naturally.
Best for: Couples who love being outside, want a relaxed session, or just really love the beach.
My favorite part: You don’t need a complicated backdrop. The ocean, sand, and sunset do a LOT of the work for you.
And if you’re a Jacksonville couple who spends your weekends at the beach anyway, why not make that part of your engagement photos?

Okay, this one is a little different because it’s actually in Orange Park, but I absolutely had to include it.
Club Continental is a historic riverfront property just outside Jacksonville, and if you’re looking for something that feels like old Florida romance, this is it.
The property dates back to 1923 and sits along the St. Johns River. The grounds feature massive live oaks draped in Spanish moss, lush landscaping, gardens, fountains, and the historic Mediterranean-style mansion.
Basically…
It’s gorgeous.
This would be such a fun option if you want your engagement photos to feel a little more elevated and romantic.
The huge trees and Spanish moss give you that classic Southern/Florida feel, while the mansion and riverfront add a more sophisticated element.
And if you’re actually getting married at Club Continental, doing your engagement session there can be an especially fun way to make your engagement photos feel connected to your wedding.
Best for: Couples who love historic venues, Spanish moss, huge oak trees, and romantic Florida scenery.
My favorite part: The giant oak trees and the riverfront views.
NOTE* This venue does cost a fee for sessions and sessions must be coordinated before the shoot.

If you want waterfront views without doing a traditional beach session, Yacht Basin Park is one I’d definitely have on your list.
This is the kind of location that gives you a little bit of everything.
You’ve got the water, boats, marina views, greenery, and plenty of space to walk around and interact with each other.
And I think that’s what makes waterfront locations so fun for engagement sessions.
You’re not limited to standing in front of a pretty view.
You can walk along the water, sit together, talk, laugh, explore, and let me capture all of those little moments happening in between.
It has a more relaxed, laid-back Florida feel than something like the Cummer Museum, while still giving you beautiful scenery and variety.
Best for: Couples who love the water, relaxed dates, and a more natural Florida feel.
My favorite part: The mossy trees & adorable architectural touches.
